FDI also offers total
Supply Chain Management (SCM)
for your product. We can build and deliver your product to your facility, or to your end-user, from prototype quantities to high volume requirements.
FDI offers in house support for quick turn prototypes and low volume production. We also have existing relationships with a number of local and regional Contract Equipment Manufacturers (CEM) that can be utilized for larger volumes. Our existing partnerships with CEM's provide quick and easy access to high volume capacity, or we can work directly with any manufacturer you may specify.
We will manage all of the details concerning component availability, manufacturing schedules, functional test issues and quality. We will also use our relationships with component suppliers to continually seek cost improvements that can be passed along to you. While this level of total service may sound expensive, our existing relationships with suppliers and comprehensive experience with the manufacturing and component supply chain allow us to deliver your product with a lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) than if you spent valuable time dealing directly with a CEM. This total
SCM service allows you to focus on other critical aspects of your product introduction while we take care of the design and production details.
Even after your design is complete we make sure there are no loose ends. Whether we build your product in house or at one of our CEMs, our total
SCM service will monitor the production process for quality and reliability and assure a smooth manufacturing flow. We will also provide a complete customer documentation package that includes full technical drawings, BOM's, schematics, PCB Gerber's and product specifications.
Kitting Services
FDI ’s kitting services range from shipment of consigned items to full turn-key programs. In addition, we offer custom packaging solutions to meet your specific needs. Our kitting services include inventory management activities that will ensure parts availability and accuracy.
FDI also offers returns management programs that serve to enhance our kitting services.
In our consignment kitting service, FDI will receive and inspect your consigned parts in our facility, per your inspection criteria. The parts will then be stored in our secured warehouse in an area designated for your inventory.
FDI will work with you to ensure the appropriate levels of inventory are maintained to achieve customer satisfaction.
FDI’s turn-key kitting service will relieve you of the burden of parts procurement.
FDI will provide parts from qualified vendors based on your specifications or Approved Vendor List. In addition,
FDI will use our Engineering and Technical staff’s years of experience to suggest alternative parts or vendors that will help save you money. Lead times and inventory levels will be managed by
FDI to ensure appropriate product availability. If your product requires custom packaging or some level of assembly,
FDI can integrate these services into your kitting program.
