Simple Serial Module
for the XTEND-SCC or XTEND-H4 Development Kit

The XTEND-SSM (Simple Serial Module) provides four (4) complete RS-232C physical interfaces on a low cost card.  The SSM comes with four standard female DB9 connectors for easy connection to a PC using one-to-one cables.  Two cables are supplied with the SSM kit.

The SSM uses single +5v supply which is provided from the XTEND-SCC or XTEND-H4 interface connector.

Full RS-232C support at data rates up to 120 Kbps on each of the four serial ports.

Uses industry standard MAX232 interface chips for easy user replacement or upgrade

Provides full RS-232C compliance including the following:

• Isolation

• ESD protection
