Overview

The SuRG42-CP delivers what battery-powered and outdoor applications demand: a sunlight-readable 4.2″ PCAP touchscreen with exceptional power efficiency. Built on a high-performance STM32 MCU (ARM Cortex M33) with 2MB flash, 768KB RAM, and FreeRTOS support, the SuRG42-CP provides a ready-to-code platform with advanced graphics capabilities and rapid development through STM32Cube IDE.

The crystal-clear display eliminates backlight power consumption in outdoor and well-lit environments, dramatically extending battery runtime while maintaining excellent readability. An optional PWM-controllable frontlight enables usage in low-ambient conditions, providing complete operational flexibility while preserving the ultra-low power advantage when lighting isn’t needed.

By leveraging a transmissive reflective display that remains clearly visible without backlighting, the SuRG42-CP consumes minimal power – just 3.84mW idle and 51.3mW active – making it ideal for applications where every milliwatt counts.

Power Consumption Details (@3V):
  • Input Current
    • Idle: 1.28mA                         (Images on the display are visible)
    • Idle, w/ Touch: 2.32mA      (Images on the display are visible)
    • Active: 17.1mA                    (Able to update images on the display)
    • Active, with Frontlight: 52.63mA
  • Input Power Consumption
    • Idle: 3.84mW                       (Images on the display are visible)
    • Idle, w/ Touch: 6.96mW    (Images on the display are visible)
    • Active: 51.3mW                  (Able to update images on the display)
    • Active, with Frontlight: 157.89mW
