FDI Announces the Release of uEZ v2.16.00

Todd DeBoer · February 10, 2026 ·

Release Date: February 10, 2026

FDI is pleased to announce the release of uEZ® v2.16.000, which introduces major library updates, enhanced multicore debugging capabilities, and critical toolchain support to streamline development on uEZGUI platforms.

Major Library & Toolchain Updates

This version incorporates the latest industry-standard libraries to improve security, performance, and stability:

  • Core Libraries: Updated to emWin v6.50, MbedTLS v3.6.5 (including security updates), FreeRTOS v11.2.0, and lwIP v2.2.1.
  • Compiler Support: Full support is now included for Rowley Crossworks v5.3.0 and IAR EWARM v9.70.2.
  • ARM CMSIS: The latest ARM CMSIS Core and DSP folders have been added, allowing developers to easily integrate ARM intrinsic functions into their applications.

Key Technical Enhancements

  • Multicore Debugging: Multicore RTT and SystemView are now fully supported. On LPC4357 uEZGUIs, developers can now record both cores simultaneously on the same timeline using a single J-Link connection.
  • Improved Networking: Project Maker now generates projects with expanded network startup code, making it easier to enable networking and AWS demos. Additionally, lwIP options have been adjusted to eliminate long delays caused by buffer timeouts during connection drops.
  • Multimedia Improvements: Maximum speaker volume settings have been increased for LM48100 audio amps based on new scope measurements.
  • Critical Fixes: This release includes improved assembly for Cortex-M to ensure compatibility with newer GCC versions.

Developer Migration Action Items

To take advantage of these updates, developers should follow these migration steps:

  • Project Regeneration: It is required to generate a new project via Project Maker and migrate existing application files to ensure all build settings are current.
  • Font Regeneration: The update to emWin v6.50 requires that all project fonts be regenerated using the supplied font configurator.
  • Memory Management: FDI recommends switching to Heap 4, which now features improved checking for large memory allocations.
  • Linker Adjustments: For LPC4357 users on Crossworks, note that Flash Bank B now defaults to a 64KB offset to accommodate the flash driver for Amazon MQTT TLS.
