Future Designs, Inc. is proud to announce the availability of the first member of its ELI, Easy LCD Interface, family of products. ELI offers users a family of simple plug and play display solutions for Single Board Computers (SBC) such as the popular Raspberry Pi or BeagleBone Black. ELI only needs an HDMI video input, a 12VDC power supply, and USB interface for the touchscreen.
ELI takes the frustration out of embedding a touchscreen display into your product. Desktop monitors aren’t well suited for embedded products and bare glass LCD’s present significant design challenges and schedule delays to typical customers. ELI provides an off-the-shelf solution with no NRE or development costs, and full support from our team of US based engineers or any of our franchised distributors.
FDI’s first product in the ELI family is a 7.0” commercial version, P/N ELI70-CR, available now through Avnet, Digi-Key or Mouser Electronics with a Suggested Resale Price of $119.00 (quantity 1). The ELI70-CR features a 7.0” WVGA LCD panel at 800 x 480 resolution, LED backlight, and a 4-wire resistive touchscreen with USB interface. “The 7.0” resistive touch display is currently the ‘sweet spot’ in the embedded space” said FDI President Kent Lowman. “We wanted our initial ELI offering to target this high volume segment, with units available overnight from distribution stock for prototyping but also with an attractive price point for volume orders.”

The ELI70-CR is designed for compatibility with platforms such as Android and Linux and should connect quickly to almost any SBC with an HDMI port using our intuitive plug and play interface. The ELI70-CR is available now in production volumes for $99.00.
