Future Designs, Inc. (FDI) has partnered with Renesas for 19 years, earning recognition as both a Renesas Certified Independent Design House (IDH) and a Renesas Certified Training Center. Over that time, FDI has completed more than 50 designs using Renesas devices, spanning the RA, Synergy, RX, RL, R8C, SH, H8, and USB 3.0 families, for both direct customers and Renesas itself.

FDI Developed the ‘Smart Factory’ CES Demo for Avnet in Collaboration with Renesas
With the Renesas S7G2 and S3A7, FDI successfully created a Smart Factory demo for Avnet, which required multiple sensors, online data visualization, remote connectivity, an LCD display, and more.
FDI Developed Software to Aid Customer in Tracking Source of Failure
Customer had an autonomous cleaning robot that was failing production-level testing, but FDI quickly developed a GUI application to assist finding the cause of the failures.
FDI’s solution, which utilized the Renesas Synergy S7G2, passed FCC Class B certification after only 8 weeks, while the customer’s previous solution had been unable to pass even with a year of modifications.

ΣyG (SYG) — Renesas Synergy GUI & IoT Modules
FDI’s ΣyG product line is a family of standalone, microcontroller-based touchscreen GUI and IoT production modules built around the Renesas Synergy Platform, running Eclipse ThreadX RTOS. Available with 7″ resistive or capacitive touch, ΣyG modules include a compact, integrated, interoperable wireless stack for low-cost, low-power connectivity, making them a fast starting point for customers building connected HMI products on Synergy.
These are 10-year channel life, standard products stocked through DigiKey, Mouser, Avnet, and WPGA, with quick customization available for specific applications.
