On 3/9/10 WP asked, “I’ve used the USB-ICP several times to program prototype projects for the P89LPC931 microcontroller.

I started a new project and used the USB-ICP to program the part. Then I added some code, assembled it without any errors or warnings, and then try to reprogram the flash. Then I get the “Device does not support operation” error message at address 0x0740 shown on the progress status bar at the buttom of the UI.

Then I reprogrammed the same hardware with previous and larger hex files without a problem. For whatever reason, it doesn’t like the hex file of my latest project.

The code also runs fine on an EMP900 emulator.

I commented-out the part of the code that changed since the last USB-ICP programming of the flash. It didn’t help (I’m not 100% positive that I didn’t miss something).

I’ve searched the forum for hex programming problems and found some related to the uart timing – but this isn’t the problem in my case.

I need to ship my prototype, but can’t program the part.”
