On 12/20/07 Arun MI asked, “In the connector datasheet of USB-ICP-LPC9xx device no pins are provided for UART communication [RXD, TXD].
But in the target board sch RXD, TXD interface is linked to USB dongle.Do we need RXD, TXD pins for programming P89V52X2 if we use USB-ICP-LPC9xx ”

      Answered:

TXD & RXD are only utilized with 80C51 devices using ISP programming – not ICP. ICP utilizes PCL & PDA which are mapped to port pins and are a ‘synchronous’ clock and bi-directional data. Since the P89V52X2 utilizes ICP only, it utilizes PCL & PDA, not TXD/RXD. Follow the documentation for LPC9xx devices.
