This part has a different programming algorithm than the P89C51RB2. This device is a 5V part.”

(Follow up post)Answered:
Yes, the USB-ICP will work with the P89V51RB2 (tested in-house) and is 5V tolerant. When using Flash Magic to program the part, just be sure to select P89V51RB2 and not P89C51RB2xx.
